Instructions
These instructions are intended to provide you with guidance in completing the Pilot Fund application requirements. The three-page online application provides a list of information and questions that we require you to complete for this provincial government fund. Each section asks detailed questions to help us assess your application in six key areas, namely;
We have provided you with scoring values beside each section to help you understand the relative importance of each section of the application. These weight scores sum for a total of 100 for the project. The application questions outline a maximum number of pages or word count allowed for each section. The space allocation is based on 8.5” x 11” paper size and a 12 font size. Charts, pictures or other elements must be included in the designated space provided. In order to ensure fairness amongst all applicants, we will not permit responses that exceed the designated limits. If you provide a 3 page response to a 2 page section, the third page will be discarded before reviewing and scoring takes place. One page is considered to be one side of a single sided page. Proof of or supporting documents will be accepted as appendices and should be referenced in the main application. Your Pilot Fund proposal will be evaluated by a peer review committee. This committee is made up of members from the public and private sectors, academia, and government departments or crown corporations. The project will be scored based on a defined set of criteria and only on information provided in your application. You will not be permitted to add information after the closing date. For this round of Pilot Funding we have allowed applicants to suggest up to three (3) experts or professionals who may evaluate your application in the peer review process. These reviewers must have expertise or experience in the corresponding field of research. Reviewers will not be involved in the review process if they;
Additionally there exists an opportunity for applicants to include reviewers or employees of corporation or organizations that they do not want to review their application. A similar section will be provided to include this information. Applicants from the University of Prince Edward Island, the Atlantic Veterinary College and Holland College should forward all applications through the Office of Research and Development or the Director of Adult Education, Learner Supports, and Applied Research, respectively. All applicants should identify a contact person if different from the proponent. Please ensure this information is accurate and up-to-date as all correspondence will be based on this information. The deadline for submissions is Monday, September 28th at 4 p.m. We require that you provide four copies of your submission by this time to the address provided below; The Department of Innovation and Advanced Learning It is preferred that you print the copies double sided to reduce paper usage. Thank you for taking an interest in the Pilot Fund as we wish all the best to you during the application process.
